Pampshade Bread Lamps are made from real loaves of bread, gently illuminated by LED lights to give the feeling of warmth and comfort that a fresh loaf provides. Created by Japanese artist Yukiko Morita, who fell in love with the powerful joy of fresh bread while working at a bakery, each lamp is handmade and treated to be antibacterial so it will last for years. With the goal of reducing food waste, she makes many of her lamps from loaves that would otherwise be discarded, and she saves and reuses the interiors of the hollowed-out bread lamps.
The Batard bread lamp brings to mind the soft glow of nighttime in Paris. It's slightly shorter than the classic baguette and can be displayed on a table or hung on a wall. To turn the lamp on and off, tap the power button. You can press and hold the power button to adjust the brightness.
